Does your child need some extra help with their school work? Or sick of fighting with them to do their homework?
My Tutor offers individual and group tutoring for students in Kindergarten to Year 12.
Individual Tutoring The HELP you need for the MARKS you want. Staying on top of your chosen studies is essential. However, this can be difficult when you have multiple assessments due at the same time or whilst judging various commitments.
Individual tuition can ensure that students are able to develop the skills need to excel in their studies. My Tutor’s Individual Tutoring Program enables students to work one-on-one with a specialist educator within a supportive and distraction free environment.
Students within the Individual Tutoring Program are able to use their time at their own discretion. Many students choice to complete homework or assignments under the guidance of a supportive tutor whilst other use the time to practice particular learning content they are struggling with. For gifted and talented students programs are established to foster their love of learning whilst encouraging the pursuit of further understanding. The benefits of the Individual Tutoring Program are that students are able to work on multiple subjects with the one tutor. Therefore it becomes the one place in which students can work on multiple subject areas with an engaging and experienced educator.
Small Group Tutoring Group Tutoring encourages students to work on the specific learning areas of literacy and numeracy within a small group setting. Within each lesson students will develop a detailed understanding of the skills required under the Australian Curriculum for either literacy or numeracy.
The benefits of our Group Tutoring are that students are afforded the opportunity to work on specific curriculum skills. Each week students are presented with interesting and motivating learning activities designed to meet a specific section of the Australian Curriculum content. Students have the opportunity to develop an in-depth understanding of each element before moving on to the next.
A further benefit to the Group Based Tutoring is that students are exposed to their peers. Students are able to active engage in tasks that require communication and social interaction. This in turn builds students ability to problem solve and think outside their everyday lives whilst feeling supported by others within their group. Increased confidence is something that is also evident within our Group Tutoring Program. As students are provided with the opportunity to share their ideas and opinions in a small group they develop the confidence to then continue this practice into their everyday classroom.
Each of our literacy and numeracy groups are based on the Australian Curriculum Stages. Each stage is completed within every school over a period of two years. Therefore students might find themselves in a group with students who are either in the grade above or below them. This should NOT cause concern. It does not mean that your child is behind or more advanced than others. It simply means that each stage of the curriculum has been designed to be implemented over two years. For example, the stage 3 English Australian Curriculum outlines the requirements for all students in years 5 and 6. There is no specific order in which these concepts must be introduced, it is left to the discretion of each school. My Tutor Group Tutoring works through each curriculum document in order to ensure all content is covered. If the staged groups are causing you concerns please contact us for further explanation.
